Source code
Source code is the text that people write to tell a computer what to do.
In a simple example
The files of your site, with their HTML, CSS and JavaScript lines, are its source code.
Why it matters to you
It is the thing that you own, save and move when you change host, so keep a safe copy.
Do not confuse with
Source code is what you write. The built site is the result made from it.
