Fix · Problems with AI tools
The AI uses a package or function that does not exist
Blocks your workSecurity
What you may see
- npm cannot find the package the AI told me to install
- The code calls a function that is not in the library
Most likely cause
AI tools sometimes invent plausible names; a name that does not exist could even be registered later by someone with bad intent.
Check first (about two minutes)
- Search the package name on the official package site: does it exist, is it popular and recent?
- For a missing function, open the library's official documentation for that function.
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- For each package you asked me to install, give the official page address, last update, and what it does; flag any you are not sure exists.
- For a missing function, find the real function in the version of the library installed here (look in node_modules or the docs for that version).
- Prefer well-known packages or the platform's own features over tiny unknown ones.
- Remove anything installed by mistake from package.json and the lock file.
Do not do this
- Do not run install commands from unknown sources without checking.
- Do not install a package whose name is a small typo of a famous one.
