Redirect loop or error after putting a proxy (like Cloudflare) in front
Not checked against the vendor's current screens
What you may see
- The site loops forever or shows a 52x error after enabling the proxy
Most likely cause
The proxy and the host both try to force https or have different ideas about encryption between them.
Check first (about two minutes)
- Does the problem go away if you turn the proxy off for this name (DNS only)?
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Read the proxy's encryption mode setting by name and what the host expects.
- Set full end-to-end encryption mode (the strict or full options, as its documentation names them) and keep only ONE place that redirects to https.
- Check the proxy's page rules and the host's redirect rules for duplicates.
Do not do this
- Do not use the "flexible" mode with a host that already forces https.
- Do not leave the proxy off permanently without knowing why.
