Fix · Pages, phones and Arabic
I see the old version in my browser (cache)
What you may see
- I changed the site but my browser shows the old one
- A hard refresh fixes it
Most likely cause
The browser keeps copies of files so pages open fast and may not ask for the new ones yet.
Check first (about two minutes)
- Open the page in a private window: is it the new one?
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Check the cache headers of the HTML and of the scripts and styles.
- Use file names with a version or hash for scripts and styles, and a short cache for the HTML page itself.
- Tell visitors nothing special: they should get the new version automatically. For me, explain hard refresh and clearing site data per browser.
Do not do this
- Do not ask every visitor to clear their cache.
- Do not disable caching for images and fonts.
