Fix · Pages, phones and Arabic
The page scrolls sideways on a phone
Blocks your work
What you may see
- I can drag the page left and right
- There is a white strip at the side
Most likely cause
One element is wider than the screen (a fixed width, an image, a long word, a table, or 100vw plus a scrollbar).
Check first (about two minutes)
- In the browser console run a check for elements wider than the window (ask the AI for the snippet) or outline all elements.
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Find the exact element(s) wider than the viewport at 390 px using a small script in the browser.
- Fix the cause on that element (max-width: 100%, min-width: 0 on grid/flex children, break long words, make tables scroll inside their own box, avoid 100vw).
- Do not just hide overflow on the body unless that is the last step.
Do not do this
- Do not shrink the font until it fits.
- Do not cut content with overflow: hidden to hide the problem.
