Tailwind only keeps classes it can find as whole words in the files listed in its settings; classes built by joining strings, or files outside the list, are dropped.

Check first (about two minutes)

Is the class written whole in the code (bg-red-500) or built ("bg-" + color)?
Does the settings list include the folder of that file?

2. Replace built-up class names with whole class names (a lookup table of full strings).
3. Check the version of Tailwind and its setup for that version (setup differs between versions).
