Next step · What to do next
Let people upload files or photos safely
What you may see
- Customers should send a photo, a design or a document
Why this step
Uploads are a way into your system: they need limits, type checks, private storage and short-lived links.
Before you start
- Which file types and sizes do you really need?
The prompt for this step
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Allow only the needed types and a maximum size, checked on the server by the real content (not only the file name).
- Store files in private storage with random names, upload straight to storage with a short-lived upload address, and serve them through short-lived signed links.
- Shrink images in the browser, show progress and clear errors in both languages, and limit uploads per person and day.
- Plan clean-up of old files and never run uploaded files as code.
Do not do this
- Do not make the upload folder public.
- Do not trust file names or types sent by the browser.
