Share previews read the og:image tag from the page; it is missing, relative, too small, behind a login, or cached from an older version.

Check first (about two minutes)

Open the image address in a private window: does it load without a login?

1. Check the og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url tags in the page head, on the live page (not only locally).
2. Make og:image a full https address to a public JPG or PNG, about 1200 by 630 pixels, under a few hundred kilobytes, and add its alt text.
3. Tell me how to ask the sharing apps to refresh their cached preview (use their official debugging pages, named by what they do).
