Fix · Sign-in and accounts
Sign-up says the email is already used (but I never signed up)
Not checked against the vendor's current screens
What you may see
- A person cannot create an account with their email
Most likely cause
An account already exists, created by an earlier test, an invite, a purchase as a guest, or another sign-in method such as Google.
Check first (about two minutes)
- Look in the user list for that email (admin side).
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Check the ways to sign in for that user (password, Google, link).
- Make the error message helpful: suggest signing in or resetting the password, and list the other sign-in methods, without confirming to strangers that the email exists where privacy matters.
- Link accounts only after the person proves ownership of the email.
Do not do this
- Do not merge two accounts by email alone.
- Do not delete the user to make sign-up pass.
