Fix · Security mistakes
I lost my phone or got a new one: my two-step codes are gone
Blocks your workSecurity
What you may see
- I cannot sign in to important accounts because the codes were on my old phone
Most likely cause
Two-step codes live in an app on one phone; without saved recovery codes or a second device, each service needs its own recovery path.
Check first (about two minutes)
- Do you still have the old phone, a saved recovery code or a second signed-in device?
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Help me list my important accounts and, for each, the official recovery path (names only; they may be labelled differently).
- Start with my email and phone number provider, because they unlock the rest.
- After recovering, set up a safe system: recovery codes in a password manager and on paper, and a second device.
Do not do this
- Do not wipe the old phone before recovering.
- Do not trust anyone who offers to "unlock" accounts for money.
