Fix · Vercel and deploying
Vercel says my domain is not verified or invalid configuration
Blocks your workNot checked against the vendor's current screens
What you may see
- The domain shows Invalid Configuration or a verification warning
- The domain is added but the site does not open on it
Most likely cause
Vercel cannot see the DNS record it asked for, or the domain is already attached to another account or project.
Check first (about two minutes)
- Read the exact record Vercel asks for (type, name, value) on the project's domains page.
- Look at the DNS records at your domain company: is that same record there, with no typo?
The fix prompt
What you type here never leaves your browser. The search runs on this page, and nothing is sent to a server or to an AI.
Kept only in this browser, on this device. Keys and passwords are removed before anything is saved.
Prompt language
Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, then follow what it says.
After you tried it, did it work?
Steps
- Ask me to paste the records Vercel requests (type, name, value) and the records I currently have at my domain company.
- Tell me which record to add or change and where, by the names of the fields (the screens may be labelled differently).
- Warn me not to delete email records (MX, SPF, DKIM).
- Explain that changes can take time, and how to check with a DNS lookup tool.
Do not do this
- Do not move the nameservers if only one record needs changing.
- Do not delete existing DNS records you do not understand.
